Aunt of slain teen: ‘Emanuel, please do something about the violence’

“With pain in her voice, the aunt of an 18-year-old woman who was fatally shot early Sunday morning on the city’s Northwest Side pleaded for something to be done about the gun violence in the city.

“It’s not just the South Side. They are always focusing on the South Side but it’s happening all over,” said Carmen Alcozer, fighting back tears. “Everybody is screaming ‘vote for me, vote for me,’ when they need to focus on the innocent people getting killed.”” ~
